I can't find any documentation for this, nor can I help posting it. I assume it's a hardware hack that manually controls the floppy drive's stepper motor, but it'd make my day if this was done in software using standard I/O requests.

If you have windows Vista then you will probably notice when right after you put your mouse on a picture that a little thing comes up with its Url. I will show you how to dodge it! Note: The box will go away after at least 10 sec.

When I was writing my TiVo hacking book, my favorite part of the entire project was taking apart two TiVos (a series 1 and series 2) and trying to figure out what everything did.

Radiohead held a contest for fans to remix the single Nude from their album In Rainbows. Frontman Thom Yorke mentioned on NPR that the contest was essentially a joke, since the Nude track is recorded at 6/8 timing and 63bpm, much slower than traditionally mixed music.
