[Peter] thought of a creative, way to generate random entropy for under $100. The USB Hourglass combines a sand timer with a rotating mechanism and an optical beam through the center of the timer to observe the falling sand.

[Jared] had a bunch of lasers left over from a previous project that he put to use by producing this laser harp. The look of it reminds us of a very small Koto or perhaps an Autoharp (although the chords can’t be changed on this model).

[Patrick] directed us to his project for alternate realism. The final goal is to be able to walk around in a space wearing a head mounted display, exploring a virtual representation of that space.

[Directive0] added a 200mW laser to his Enterprise Phase Pistol toy. This joins the ranks of hand-held laser hacks that we’ve seen around here lately.

This year, I decided to make my pumpkin a little more exciting. I thought and thought about it, and then I came across LED Dance Room. I figured "I could do that", and the project was born.

We're having a Halloween party around my place, which is mostly taking place outdoors. I thought it would be cool to have some glowing LED 'eyes' watching from the bushes and trees around the party, so I did some googling and came across LED Throwies.

Halloween is only a few days away. We're getting into the spirit by building a remote control color changing pumpkin. Channel buttons 0-8 on the remote toggle the colors of the rainbow.
