This is the best application in the entire world for converting DVDs to iPod video, it's one click - "HandBrake Lite is a horribly-mangled abomination of HandBrake, jettisoning its non-crucial features with the one-track goal of creating iPod-sized movies from DVDs.

"When you listen to music or speech in a noisy environment you have to constantly, continuously adjust the volume control: boost the gain when the sound level is low, reduce the gain when the level is high.

Here's an interesting MP3 player, it's a Swiss army knife music player. Supports MP3, WMA, WAV and OGG along with FM and voice recording, drag and drop music management (no weird software needed) - It also comes with a "flight mode" sleeve sans knives.

[Johny Lee] sent in his(pdf) awesome projector calibration project. By adding embedding some optical fiber that feed into a set of USB connected light sensors, his groups software can determine the exact pixel position of each sensor.
