"Kyoto trough" solar cooker! First prototype can be seen on video.



http:www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tTIbzxnO84 shows my first prototype HURAH! 15th may 2009 I have been working on solar cookers for a few years now and perhaps it is time to put my experience and learning into action. I thought up this solar cooker today, april 20 2009 in a eureka moment. The plan is to design a highly effective solar cooker that is very cheap to make , does not need to be moved much and maximizes the return on materials used in making the solar cooker. I only did a teaser design so that others could finish the job. But so far nobody rose to the challenge. Art of illusion is fun to use and hides a whole lot of power under the hood. From using it I came up with this design. I have other instructables that can help you use art of illusion. I have uploaded the most recent art of illusion scene file here thirdcombined troughblabla.aoi If you download it, it might change the file extension to .temp. Just change it back to .aoi and it will work just fine when you open it in art of illusion! The file just happens to contain a parabolic dish, winston curve dish, and various others too. And all in 11kbytes! As you will see, I am not good with art of illusion. By all means, do it better than I do! Why not design a base for the cooker, or pointers to aim it correctly? There is so much that you can do! Have fun. Brian
