The BMW S1000RR superbike was showcased in Germany recently. Apparently the company will build 1,000 production models by the end of next year and the new bikes will be available to customers in 2009. The S1000RR superbike belongs to the elite performance category and BMW Motorrad's first entry into the area will be the S 1000 RR. It is a1000cc four cylinder bike based on the racing prototype shown in Europe. Apparently the "S" in this bike stands for Supersports, marking a new class of motorcycles from BMW. The "1000" denotes the size of the engine, and the "RR" stands for the model itself. Check out the video.
