A couple hours ago I wrote a story on the iPhone 3G launch and asked the question when the lines will start to build. I did not expect that Apple fans to start lining up already today one week before the iPhone 3G launch, but they did.
Engadget interviewed the leader of the initial group of people that lined up. Apparently they want to break the world record in waiting in line. I rather would break the world record in lying on the beach.

I am not even sure if it is that smart to line up at an Apple store for the iPhone 3G. I think it might be more efficient at an AT&T store, because of the activation procedure that is going to take place at purchase. If you have to much time on you hands than rather take a vacation trip and not camp on the streets of New York.
