I'm currently in a commited relationship with my Android smartphone, but that doesn't mean I have to stop looking at other devices. Some of them I might even want to oggle lecherously while sweating and mumbling under my breath. That might make me sound like a bit of a freak, but the Ericsson Kurara really does look that hot.
This new smartphone was leaked out on an Ericsson fan forum and brought into the English-speaking blogosphere by Boy Genius. As best we can tell, the Kurara is an S60-running smartphone with an 8.1 MP camera, like the Rachel. Unlike the Rachel, the Kurara's camera is supposed to be able to record in 720p HD. The Kurara is also rumored to pack an AMOLED screen, although that's impossible to confirm with the photos we have.
I'll say this for the Kurara; it looks gorgeous. I really want Ericsson to release a smartphone with a 3.5? AMOLED screen and the ability to record in HD, but I have some niggling doubts. If you remember, right before its announcement the the Rachel was rumored to have an OLED screen and the ability to record HD. It's possible that some rumors got mixed up, and facts about the Kurara got mixed in with facts about the Rachel.
Or, it's possible that we fans want these features so badly we project them onto every new, cool looking handset that could plausibly feature them. Whatever the truth, we should know fairly soon. The fact that full, high quality have leaked out means that we could be close to an official announcement.
