As Intel's Atom processor is slowly setting its feat on ground, AMD is getting sleepless nights as it continues to lag behind the world's largest chip maker. Also, its recent more than a billion dollar loss isn't shaking off company's belief that they're still very much in the game. So come November and you'll get AMD Bobcat -- AMD's answer to Intel's Atom processor. Bobcat is a single-core, 64-bit processor designed for low-cost laptops and cheap computers. It features 1GHz core clock speed, 128KB of L1 cache, 256KB of L2 cache and an 800MHz HyperTransport. Additionally, the processor's on-board memory controller will support 400MHz DDR2 chips. The AMD Bobcat consumes less than 8W power and will be unveiled in November of this year.
