Epson is the #1 projector provider in the world. They sell a wide variety of projectors for meeting rooms, classrooms, and also the home theater. Recently, the company announced that they predict that home theaters will continue to grow in the next year. They also predict that full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution projectors will surpass lesser HD (1280 x 720) resolution projectors. According to market research, Epson stated that they sold 160000 1080p projectors in the first half of 2009. In that same period, Epson shipped 420000 projectors for home uses. Epson expects global projector shipments to total over five million before the end of the year, which would be a 116% increase compared to previous information. Because of many 1080p projectors are dramatically reducing their retail prices, Epson highly expects these projectors to rise in sales in 2010.
