Digital Projection was proud to announce that they were selected to provide the projector equipment for a stunning new home theater that Opus AVC Inc, in North Haven, Connecticut was constructing. The theater is impressively big, with a 2000 square foot space and three rows of seating. Digital Projection added two Lighting Reference 1080p-30 projectors as well as a dVision 30-1080p XB projector in order to create a Hollywood-grade cinema experience. The Lightning projector features 10000 ANSI lumens, a 5000:1 contrast ratio, and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. The dVision is equally impressive with 5100 ANSI lumens, full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and a 7500:1 contrast ratio. In order for the theater to be constructed a new hole had to be dug on the owners property. The major problem however was that the ground was almost pure granite, which had to be blasted out. Once the hole was dug, concrete and cinder blocks were used to create a completely sound proof room that could easily be mistaken for a fallout shelter. The inside features fabric paneling to reduce acoustics and further soundproofing. The projectors and other digital equipment are kept in a separate room just like a theater in order to keep the running noise from becoming a problem. The theater was also highly decorated with a wide variety of advanced systems like door triggers and a pre-boot system that started the warm up process the moment someone came to the front door. In addition, when the owner is done for the day, all they have to do is press a button on their way out and the entire theater shuts down.
