SunView Pico-Projector uses Displaytech FLCOS Microdisplay Technology

Previously, the SunView PMP Projector was announced at a Hong Kong Electronics Fair and from that came an uproar of interest in the portable projector and the type of technology it uses. Now, we know that it uses Displaytech Ferroelectric Liquid Crystal on Silicon (FLCOS) technology, and according to Richard Barton, CEO of Displaytech, “We are extremely excited, but not surprised, that our FLCOS microdisplay is used in the first consumer product to integrate a pico-projector. FLCOS technology yields the microdisplays best suited for small, battery-operated consumer devices.” The resolutions available will be VGA, WVGA, and SVGA and will have optimum image quality.
