Nary a month after debuting at CTIA 2008, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition has found a place on Buy. com. Judging by the product listing, Nokia plans on charging around a Benjamin more for the WiMAX iteration, though this particular e-tailer hacks off another $23.

A design masterpiece in the line of the Wooden Portable NES this certainly is not, but it's fun to see a manufacturer taking seriously the concept of portable classic cartridge gaming, and what better place to start than the NES? The FC Mobile Portable could very well be a rebadge of something or another, and there's obviously no telling how legitimate this eBay auction is -- so proceed at your own risk -- but we know we've certainly squandered $50 on much less noble pursuits than old school portable gaming.

Got yourself an Archos TV+? How's about a WiFi-enabled 605 / 705 PMP? Even if you're sadly answering "no" to the latter question, folks with a Windows or Windows Mobile-based machine can still get in on the placeshifting action, as Archos has just announced a swank new TV+ plug-in that brings Slingbox capabilities to those devices.

We've already seen Google's Android mobile OS get shoehorned onto Nokia N810 tablet, but it looks like the Internet Tablet OS is about to get even more flexible with ports of Ubuntu and the Qt toolkit.

Marketing its wares straight to consumers is old hat for HTC in the Old World, but stateside? Not so much. That's not to say the HTC name is a total unknown in North America; there's been the odd Advantage here and Shift there, but by and large, we yanks know the Taiwanese firm better for its relatively anonymous efforts in the likes of the AT&T Tilt, Verizon XV6900, Sprint Touch, and countless other carrier-branded devices.

Sure, there's plenty of far fetched concept devices from big players like Nokia, but it's nice to see that folks without millions of dollars in research funding can also come up with equally unrealistic devices, as evidenced by this so-called "Scroll" contraption created by 13 Tech Design.
