Lenovo today officially confirmed that it is working on a new series, under their ThinkPad brand. The SL series is primarily designed for small organization with less than 100 employees "that can't afford an IT staff to troubleshoot their own laptop problems." The most unique thing about this series is that it comes with online backup services and LoJack technology to track down stolen laptops. This series is the first one to offer online backup service, which is very important these days as reliability of data is paramount in all industries. Also, with the inclusion of LoJack software tracker, you won't have to worry about losing your machine as even if it gets stolen you can easily track it.
As far as designing is concern, the notebook won't be boring like other typical ThinkPads. Reportedly, design of the notebook has been inspired by Lenovo's very own IdeaPad laptops, indicating they'll at least be bit stylish. Also, the series will be equipped with a connector to display high-definition video and software for video creation.
The SL series laptops will be formally announced in the next few weeks with price ranging from $699 to $1,199.
