MSI Launches Wind12 U230 Light Notebook

Am I the only one that thinks we have too many categories of notebook these days? It's getting to the point where it's hard to tell just what should be called what. Take the new MSI Wind12 U230. (via Engadget) It weighs less than 3 pounds (2.9, to be exact) and it packs a power-efficient 1.6 GHz Athlon Neo X2 processor. So far it sounds like a netbook.

Ahh...but it only offers 4 hours of battery life, and it comes with a 12.1? screen, which moves it from netbook to ultra-portable notebook. I think. Honestly, what we call it doesn't matter. It looks pretty and it has a ?Brand new msi Ergonomic De-stress Keyboard?. Although I can't personally speak to how ergonomic that keyboard is, MSI seems to be quite proud of it.

The U230 packs Windows 7 Home Premium and has yet to have an announced price or ship date. It's got a 160 GB HD, 1.3 MP webcam and, assuming it isn't too costly, should represent a solid buy for anyone looking for an ultraportable notebook. Or netbook. Or whatever the hell else you want to call it.
