We reported quite extensively about the MSI Wind when it appeared. The company did though come not really through with making the MSI Wind netbook available broadly in the United States. We and others ranked the MSI Wind very high when it comes to choosing a netbook, but they somehow missed their chance. Now MSI says that the MSI Wind U100 will be available at major retailers in the coming week at $399. Currently Amazon.com offers the Atom based U100 netbook with 3 cell battery, 120GB HDD, 1GB RAM and Windows XP for $479.99. At $399.95 the Acer Aspire One Blue netbook actually offers a 160GB HDD.
MSI will also bring us the Wind U120 (aka Wind 2) aimed at business uses. The MSI Wind U120 would sport a new design SSD and HDD options, and 3.5G connectivity. THe U120 is slated to be released in the U.S. in late November or December with a price under $600.
