Lenovo has announced its latest desktop PC called the ThinkCenter M58/M58p with Power Manager. Power Manager is a technology that allows users to control the energy consumption of the PC remotely and the new M58 systems mark the first time the technology is available.

Without a single official peep on the matter from HP (that we can find), its Compaq division has apparently announced a Mini 700 netbook in the UK that is a near spec-for-spec equivalent to HP's Mini 1000 already available in the US.

True power is derived from the people, yes? Asus and Intel know this well, so they've launched a website called WePC, where users can draw up concepts and specs for new netbook and notebook models then argue about how fantastic or utterly impractical they are.

It looks like Psystar really hasn't been hit by either the economic downturn or the lawsuits Apple has brought against it regarding those "OS X-capable" machines.

We were certainly suitably impressed by HP's new Mini 1000 netbook when we got our hands on it earlier this week, and it looks like that may be the common sentiment about the device, at least if this first batch of reviews is any indication.

Dell announced a new line of computers for enterprise users in the OptiPlex brand. The new systems include the OptiPlex 960, 760, 360, and FX160. The FX160 is Dell's first thin client product with support for embedded or streamed operating systems for virtual desktop environments starting at $399.

Hewlett-Packard unveiled today the new netbook series called HP Mini 1000. The low-cost ultraportable, based on the Intel Atom N270 1. 6GHz processor, is initially offered in three variants ? the standard HP Mini 1000, Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition, and Mini 1000 with MIE (Mobile Internet Experience) Linux OS.

Thus far word on the street about Samsung's NC10 has been good, but not exactly enough to distance it from the crowd. Laptop Magazine's full review of a Korean unit, however, found it to be exemplary, calling it "the most well-rounded 10-inch netbook on the market.
