Sony Vaio A series gets updated with an 18.4 inch display

Breaking loose from the 17 inch barrier Sony has updated its Vaio A series with an 18.4 inch display the largest on a Vaio yet. The VGN-AW70B/Q is a true desktop replacement as it comes with mammoth 18.4 inch 1920 ? 1080 display, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz) processor, 2 Gigs of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT GPU and a 500GB hard drive. The system is runs on Windows Vista Home Premium and comes with Blu-Ray drive, 2.1 sound with sub-woofer, card reader, Felica, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Webcam, Felica and HDMI out. The VGN-AW50D has the same looks and specs except that it comes with a Terrestrial Digital TV tuner. Scheduled to go on sale in Japan by September 20 it weighs a cool 3.9 kg and the standard config would sell for 320,000 Yen ($ 3200).
