Intel's certainly taken the lid off some interesting gear at this year's IDF, but this is a little disappointing -- that cool-looking slate / tablet PC the company was teasing this afternoon is a Panasonic tablet aimed at the healthcare industry, just as we suspected.

Xplore Technologies isn't exactly the most prolific purveyor of rugged computers, but it looks like it's finally managed to churn out a follow-up to its circa-2006 iX104C3 tablet PC, with its new and slightly improved iX104C4 now making its official debut.

Lenovo's dimunitive X200 finally made the scene just recently after hiding out in the shadows for a couple weeks, and it looks like it's got a little friend waiting back there as well -- some specs for a tablet version of the 12-inch ultraportable surfaced over the weekend.

Poor xTablet. First it's used as a hammer and now it's submerged under water by an accented man in a wetsuit. In the latest test of the xTablet T8700, the guys over at RuggedPCReview swam gingerly with the machine all the while tapping away at its screen, amazed that it continued to work, submerged and "without bubbles.
