If you're a fan of Asus' elfin Eee PC and you want to stand out from the crowd without having to wait in line for the larger, 8. 9in model, how about a standard unit kitted out in carbon fibre instead?
One enterprising eBayer is offering just that: an Eee covered in the hi-tech material and with a memory and storage upgrade under the bonnet too.

Elonex has rolled out its sub-?100 Linux-based laptop, the One, but it looks like it's going to prove harder get hold of than Asus Eee PC has been.

CeBIT Asus is showing the 8. 9in Eee PC at the CeBIT show this week, but while it hasn't formally announced the sub-notebook's specs yet, Taiwanese moles have quickly rushed in to fill in the blanks.

We haven't heard much about ASUS' R50/R50a UMPC since its debut at CES in January. Oh sure, it was on display at CeBIT but only to be overshadowed (literally) by its imposing 7-inch, R70 bro.

HTC's Shift finally launched in the US this week, and what do you know, we landed one to check out. Sure as hell ain't too shabby for a UMPC, but while it's got a number of things working in its favor (versatile form factor, solid hardware, lots of niceties like a fingerprint reader, 3G, Windows Mobile, etc.

Terrific news for Eee PC fans. Spotted at the FCC site is not only a 9-inch Eee PC or a touch screen Eee PC, but a 9-inch multi-touch screen Eee PC.
