This document is written primarily for anyone who wants to create an interface using the CUI or CREATE USB Interface. It is also useful for anyone who wants to understand the process of developing applications for microcontrollers in general, and for Microchip PIC processors in particular.

We will analyze and modify a laptop BIOS image for fun and profit. Note that this is stupidly dangerous: a bad flash and we shall end up with a doorstop, or we shall have to remove the chip and reflash it manually.

First I bought and gutted an Xbox 360 wireless controller. I shall take this opportunity to say that after the debacle of the bowling-ball sized Xbox 1 controller the new 360 model is possibly one of the best controllers ever.

Describes how you can turn your existing Xbox 360 video cable into a multi-out device capable of VGA. You do not even need to hack inside the Xbox itself, just the cable. Total cost is around 7 dollar, including the Radio Shack project box.

As most of you already know, not all notebook keyboards are made the same, and the keyboard you get when buying one of those budget notebooks is not always a high durability keyboard, especially if you are a heavy typist.

I sometimes wanted a stand alone device that is capable of measuring or testing CPU Cooler Fans independent of the computer. And here it is, a PIC16F627 based CPU Cooler Fan Speed Tester. The speed is displayed on 4 units of 7 segment display as shown.

The Internet Plug is a web-enabled appliance. The main goal is to show a simple and effective application for home use. The concept is extremely simple. An interface between the cyber world and the real world. A box connected to both of these worlds accomplishes this. One of the simplest applications will be to control the lights from the distance, meaning from any computer connected to the Internet.

The machine is essentially a robot that allows sequencing thru a batch of disks unattended. It is very useful for batch processing CDs - such as batch burning my large digital photo archive, as well as batch reading it back in, or batch ripping of CDs. Its not random access - just has an input and an output stack.
