WEP Key Generator

WEP Key Generator
It has been argued that getting a security key off a webpage is a bad idea. If you're utterly paranoid about getting a key off a webpage (in spite of getting here via https) then do not use these keys. This secure page gives not so deterministic random WEP keys in hexadecimal notation.

Note that in many instances a device (such as DLink's DWL-900AP+) says it has 128 bit or 256 bit encryption. Cutting and pasting the 128 or 256 bit key results in an error with the device saying the key is too long. In this case use the 104 bit or 232 bit keys. The missing 24 bits are added by the encryption algorithm in the device. Other devices that accept the full key length probably ignore the last 24 bits.

As an alternative, if you have Linux, FreeBSD or Mac OS X, cut and paste the following line and run it in a shell to generate your own keys. As it's run off your own computer it is far more secure than getting the keys off this page
