Eight Useful Android Apps for Electronics and Electrical Engineers

6) Droid Tesla Demo

Droid Tesla Demo from Vladimir Djokic is a demo version of the Droid Tesla Pro app. It is a simple SPICE tool (circuit simulator) which is simple to use and powerful performer. If you want a quick, easy, and handy application which helps you to make fast calculations for electronic circuits and design, then the Droid Tesla is a good choice to have.

If you have an Android device supporting 19 API and above, then you can easily download and install Droid Tesla Demo. The simulator program uses Kirchoff’s Current Law to solve the basic resistive circuits. It uses the same way as an electrical student does in the lab.

This is the home screen of Droid Tesla App. Here you can see a number of menu buttons including ‘New projects,’ ‘New Subcircuit,’ ‘My Projects,’ ‘Online Projects,’ ‘Examples,’ ‘Themes,’ ‘Settings,’ etc. menu options. You can check the examples and start with a reference or can make your project from scratch. You can change the theme as per your comfort and can change the settings of the app as per your convenience.

Also, you have a search option to go to the circuit you want to examine quickly.

The simulator uses an iterative algorithm of Newton-Raphson for solving the circuits with the help of non-linear current and voltage relationships, the Trapezoidal methods of integration approx., and the states of reactive elements like capacitors and inductors. The other option for this is to use the GEAR methods which are more stable but are slower and relatively inaccurate than the trapezoidal integration methods.

This app is best for electrical students as well as field engineers to quickly design and solve circuits. The app is available in both free and pro versions. But if you are serious about your study or job, then we strongly recommend you to get the pro version of Droid Tesla.
