The i.MX 6Quad, i.MX 6Dual, i.MX 6DualLite, and i.MX 6Solo families of applications processors represent Freescale Semiconductor’s ARM CortexTM-A9 based multimedia-focused products that offer high performance processing with a high degree of functional integration and are optimized for low power consumption. Each processor provides a DDR3/LV-DDR3/LPDDR2 memory interface and a number of other interfaces for connecting peripherals, such as WLAN, BluetoothTM, GPS, hard drive, displays, and camera sensors.

The i.MX 6Dual/6Quad and i.MX 6Solo/6DualLite processors have similar features and implementation. Their similar implementation makes possible the hardware migration of these processors from one processor type to another.
